Google Nexus 7 is one of the best cheap good tablet PC out there today. It is not however without problems. The Droid Guy has compiled the most common problems Nexus 7 owners encounters and provide solutions when available.

Nexus 7 or Galaxy Note 8.0 ?

Still on the sideline in buying an Android tablet ? Want to get the Nexus 7 but still holding out for Galaxy Note 8.0 ? Well, check out the specs for specs comparison of those two in iTech Post "Nexus 7 vs. Galaxy Note 8.0: Battle Of The Budget Android Tablets".

Overall, the Galaxy Note 8 is better equipped specs wise, except in the display department. And Galaxy Note has an S pen. The price is expected to be a little more higher than Google Nexus 7.

Personally, I will go with the Nexus 7. It uses plain Android OS, compared to Galaxy Note use of Samsung TouchWiz. Price is also a factor, since Nexus 7 specs is still powerful enough to run any apps you throw at it today, why bother buying a more expensive one with similar specs ?

Cheap Good Tablet PC Flooding Australia

Australia, despite its relative geographic isolation with the rest of the western world is finding no boundaries for cheap good tablet PC.

Well, after that hiatus, this past couple of weeks the flood appears to have begun again — but in a smaller form factor, following the success of Google’s Nexus 7. Perhaps the most high-profile device to be flagged for imminent local launch is HP’s Slate 7 (pictured above), which CRN tells us will sell locally for $199, but there’s also ASUS’s MeMO Pad, also a 7″ device in a very similar form factor to the Nexus 7 (no big surprise, given that ASUS built the Nexus 7 for Google), and this afternoon Kogan joined the Android love-in with 8″ and 10″ tablet models starting at just $119. 

We’re sure there are a few other 7″ Android tablet launches out there which we haven’t laid our eyes on, but frankly, we’re finding it hard to really care that much at this point, given the sheer amount of similar devices launching in Australia at the moment.

While HP Slate 7 is relatively new, ASUS MeMO Pad has been announced for some time. Google Nexus 7 and 10 are also widely available. So, apparently the tablet invasion has truly gone worldwide.

Google Nexus 7 still takes the crown when it comes to Best Budget Android Tablet. As shown on Gizmophilliacs "What’s the best budget Android Tablet to buy ?". What other choices are out there ? Well, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and Karbonn Tab 10 are two other tablets that wins.

If you are looking to buy a Nexus 7 tablet, the hottest cheap good tablet PC right now, Google is making it easier. A new webpage from Google can help you locate a retailer near you. Head over to http://www.google.com/nexus/7/retailers/.

From this point, it is simply a matter of letting the page locate you, or typing in the address where you happen to be. 

You can limit the results by distance, with options for 5, 10, 20 and 50 miles. Basically, from what we are seeing — we have a nice list of T-Mobile stores when it comes to the Nexus 4. The Nexus 7 on the other hand shows a few more retailers including Staples, Walmart and GameStop. We hope to see some additional retailers come to the Nexus 4 locator page as well. 

Otherwise, the results come back with the store name, the distance, address and phone number. Of course, given we are talking about a Google provided tool this other bit shouldn’t come as a surprise, but you can also get directions to the store.

Best for Value tablet from Yahoo News UK

Yahoo News UK has run an article "How to pick the best tablet computer for you". Naturally iPad and Google Nexus 7 dominates.

What is of interest is the Best for Value tablets. Yahoo News UK listed Google Nexus 7, naturally and Disgo Tablet. Why ?

The Disgo 8104 runs the slightly older Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, but you’ll still be able to access email and browse the web on the generous 10.1-inch screen.  

There are compromises - you can’t access the Google Play Store and the screen and processor are no match for the similarly priced Nexus 7, but a mini-HDMI output (for hooking the tablet up to a monitor or HD TV), front-facing camera and microSD card slot are surprising inclusions for just £155.

For £155, a 10-inch tablet is indeed a good deal. However the missing Google Play Store can be a turn off for some people. While Android 4.0 is old, compared to 4.2 Jelly Bean, it is still a common Android OS.

Another great addition to the Cheap Good Tablet PC market.

Acer Iconia Tab A110 vs Nexus 7

Back in late October, Acer finally released the Iconia Tab A110. At US$230, it is considered a budget tablet. Looking at its specs and Acer brand, it should be a cheap and good tablet PC. How does it compare with Google Nexus 7 ? Android Authority has a head to head comparison that you can view here.

The biggest advantage Acer has over Google Nexus 7 is its support of micro HDMI and micro SD card slot. However price and performance wise, you are better off with the Google Nexus 7. It is currently the best cheap and good tablet PC in the market.

Cheap Good Chinese Tablet PC Chuwi V99

Good news for us! Chinese manufacturers are being pushed by the recent release of Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD. For a long time Chinese built tablets, with their generic named tablets have long ruled the cheap good tablet pc market. They are of various built quality, from poor to decent. Now it looks like we will have a good tablet with Chuwi V99 Android tablet.

Chinese tablet manufacturer Chuwi has now launched a new retina-display equipped tablet, dubbed the Chuwi v99. The 9.7″ slate is equipped with a display sporting a resolution of 2048 x 1536, the same as Apple’s new iPad, but is  priced under $300. The Chuwi v99 is  powered by a 1.6 GHz Rockchip RK3066 ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM, and equipped with the Mali 400 GPU, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slots for additional memory, a whopping 10000 mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board. Impressive, eh? And all that for under $300.

The Chuwi V99 will come with Android 4.1, a great improvement. Most Chinese tablet comes equipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, built for smartphone small screen. Very poor choice, considering the screen size difference, making apps looks stretched out.

Google Nexus 7 32 GB Confirmed In the UK

It is confirmed, the 32 GB version of Google Nexus 7 is now available in UK. Evidence now appears in various product catalogue and one person has managed to actually bought the 32GB version. It is priced at £199.99. You can read more at Stuff website by clicking here.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD caught in the crossfire

Amazon recently announced the availability of Kindle Fire HD. Its latest version of Kindle tablet optimized for Amazon experience. It is a 7-inch tablet and received great review from people who like to read e-books and watch movies on their tablet. Amazon Kindle Fire HD is now in the crossfire between Google Nexus 7 and the recently announced iPad Mini. Can it stand out ?

For those of you not familiar with Kindle Fire HD, I found a great first impression you can read below :

The Fire HD is a well built tablet, and the rubberised back and surround make it feel more durable than an iPad.  

Switch it on, and the 7 inch screen is sharp, clear and easy to read. 

However, the main difference is in the software. 

The Kindle software puts content, not apps first. 

It works using a 'carousel' you scroll through with a finger, with content divided into books, music, apps, video and others. 

It's extremely simple to get around, but does feel far more 'contained' that the rivals from Google and Apple - this is a gadget for consuming media rather than any attempt to work. 

Sadly, the app selection is also smaller than its rivals, with 50,000 available.  

However, there are still most of the big names in there (including the MailOnline app), and the web browser also works well. 

For app addicts, this probably isn't the right tablet.  

But for those who primarily want a gadget to read and watch films on, the Fire HD is an absolute bargain, and it's only real competition in the budget market comes from Google's Nexus 7, which runs the firm's Android software and has more apps, but a much more complex interface. 

Overall, the Fire HD is a winner and could see many people switching from dedicated ebooks into the world of tablets - and the lower price may even lure a few iPad mini purchasers to switch allegiance.

Another clear advantage for the iPad mini is its cellular connectivity—it'll be able to access 4G LTE mobile networks, while the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD are currently Wi-Fi-only (there's the 8.9-inch LTE-enabled Kindle Fire HD, but it's a bit too big to make this comparison). Still, the two Android based tablets have their advantages in overall connectivity. The Nexus 7 has NFC and GPS, which are missing in the Fire HD, while the iPad mini is missing NFC entirely and only offers GPS in its cellular models. The Fire HD is also the only one of the bunch with micro HDMI out, making it easy to hook up to any HDTV.

As PC Magazine summed up, in comparison, the three tablets appears to be similar. It is the connectivity that differentiate the tablets the most, with Kindle Fire HD having the advantage of easy connection to HD TV, watching movies on big screen TV using Kindle Fire is easy to do. Price is also great. It is cheaper than the iPad Mini. Equipped with Android 4.0, albeit heavily customized for Amazon experience. The Amazon Kindle Fire HD is still a contender. Nexus 7 32GB Available Now 8 GB to go on firesale

Google Nexus 7 is now available in 32GB configuration at Staples. It is priced at $250. This is the same price as the old 16GB, which means that the 16GB will soon be sold at $199. While the 8GB will be sold for even less. There are proof already of customer purchasing the 32GB version. This is before Google announcement on October 29th, which hints at new Google Android OS and or tablet.

Google Nexus 7 itself is a great gaming device. However in its current 8GB and 16GB configuration, not a lot of games can be stored inside the tablet. Google Nexus 7 is a collaboration between Google and Asus.

This tablet has been advertised as a great mobile gaming machine; it has all the specs to be one, and games run smooth as silk, but it lacks one thing. A major one, at that – internal storage is just not enough for the device to hold more than a few HD games, especially for owners of the 8 GB version. To make it more complicated, the 7-inch affordable tablet does not feature a microSD slot.

Google Nexus 8GB is rumored to be discontinued. This means there will be a firesale (clearance sale) coming soon.

The photo also suggests that the 8GB model will go on clearance on Oct. 30. Good news for those looking to snatch up the low-end device for a low price before it disappears.
