Scroll Excel III

Looking for a cheaper Nexus 7 but better specs compared to Acer Iconia B1 ? Storage Options Scroll Excel III is a great fit.
For $165 a pop, you get a 1.6GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 Boxchip processor underneath the hood, although the 7” display at 1024 x 600 resolution does not really impress. Still, it does have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board right out of the box, alongside 1GB RAM and accompanied by 8GB of internal memory which can be further expanded, thanks to a microSD memory card slot, not to mention a 3,000 mAh battery that ought to last the distance.

It is available in the UK for now, at  £109.99, roughly US$165 as reported by Ubergizmo above.

You can order directly online at Storage Options.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107A Cheap Good Tablet PC

PC Advisor has posted a review for Lenovo IdeaTab A2107A online. It is priced at £150. It received 3.5 Stars. Here is what PC Advisor says :

The Lenovo IdeaTab A2107A chassis design is simply a smaller version of that seen in the larger IdeaTab, with a stylish glass front and a matt black rear. There's a power button, headphone jack and micro-USB charging slot on top, while the volume rocker sits on the device's right side. A small section at the top of the rear slides up to reveal two SIM ports and a microSD slot.

Best for Value tablet from Yahoo News UK

Yahoo News UK has run an article "How to pick the best tablet computer for you". Naturally iPad and Google Nexus 7 dominates.

What is of interest is the Best for Value tablets. Yahoo News UK listed Google Nexus 7, naturally and Disgo Tablet. Why ?

The Disgo 8104 runs the slightly older Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, but you’ll still be able to access email and browse the web on the generous 10.1-inch screen.
There are compromises - you can’t access the Google Play Store and the screen and processor are no match for the similarly priced Nexus 7, but a mini-HDMI output (for hooking the tablet up to a monitor or HD TV), front-facing camera and microSD card slot are surprising inclusions for just £155.
For £155, a 10-inch tablet is indeed a good deal. However the missing Google Play Store can be a turn off for some people. While Android 4.0 is old, compared to 4.2 Jelly Bean, it is still a common Android OS.

Another great addition to the Cheap Good Tablet PC market.

Gemini JoyTab 9.7

Most cheap tablet PC are in the 7-inch range. Now there is a cheap good tablet PC in the 10-inch range. Gemini Devices JoyTab 9.7 is available for £177. It runs great for games and movies, however no GPS is included with the device.
We loaded a handful of demanding games onto the tablet, including the demanding Shadowgun and Asphalt 7, and found each one played smoothly, hardly dropping a frame. The JoyTAB! coped effortlessly with Full HD video playback, delivering local files and streaming online movies smoothly, and a Mini HDMI output means the tablet can output video to an HD TV, too.

Cheap Tablet Options In The UK

With the christmas and new year fast approaching, it is time to go on a shopping spree. If tablets are on your list, then it is wise to take a look at these tablets for your consideration. Note that these tablets are geared towards the UK market.

Capacitive technology means that the displays are more sensitive to the touch, making the experience of using even the cheapest of tablets, such as the budget Kogan Agora (£119), much more satisfying than trying to poke the wobbly, plasticky resistive screens of previous generations of technology.
However, as nice as the newer, cheaper displays might be to touch, you also want to examine the resolution they offer. A 7-inch screen outputting at just 800 x 480 isn't going to look very clear or sharp, because that screen resolution is already a little out of date, even on the smaller screens of Android smartphones nowadays.
A decent budget option, however, such as the Archos 70 (available for about £170), offers a 7-inch display running at a more respectable 1,024 x 768, which will make everything from web text to apps appear much clearer than something that's expanding a lower resolution image to fill a 7-inch screen.
Another legacy Android issue that still affects some of the cheaper tablets these days is access to the Google Play Store. Some models from lesser known brands, such as the ViewSonic ViewPad 10e (available for about £140) don't have the certification to offer access to Google's official app store on board, although most of today's newer budget models now do.

Some points to consider on buying cheap tablet but with quality are:

  1. Google Play availability on the tablet. This is the major app market to have on your Android.
  2. Display technology. Go for capacitive display, and do take note of the resolution. Bigger is better.
  3. RAM availability. If the tablet runs Android 4.0, 1GB RAM is the minimum. More is better.
  4. Android OS upgrade availability. This is important, since most tablets are not upgradeable, so choosing your Android OS is important, because it is more likely that you will be stuck with the OS. For your consideration, the current OS is version 4.2 Jelly Bean. Most tablets today are available using the OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
  5. Connectivity options. Most tablets comes with WiFi. If you need 3G, then you have to prepare to pay more for it.
Happy Shopping!

Good news for those in the UK. Kogan Agora 10 is now available for £114. That price is for the 16GB. The 8GB version is priced at £104. Both version runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Kogan itself is an online store specializing in electronics. It is available in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The deal is currently only available in the UK.

Lenovo IdeaTab a steal in the UK

Here is a great deal from Lenovo. It is offering its IdeaTab A2107 (7-inch) and IdeaTab A2109 (9-inch) tablets for £149 and £199 respectively. This puts the IdeaTab price to be cheaper than Google Nexus 7 and Amazon KindleFire HD.

How good are these tablets ?

The 7-inch A2107 has a battery life of eight hours, and inside is 16GB memory. It features an internal roll cage, which should help protect it against drops, should you come over all butterfingers this festive season.
The A2109 is more powerful, with an Nvidia Tegra 3 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The 9-inch screen has a resolution of 1,280x800 pixels, giving it a pixels per inch count of 167. That's not going to worry the iPad's Retina display, but then at this price you can't ask too much.
Both tablets feature dual speakers for stereo sound, which should help if you're planning on using them for music and movies.
Source: Tech Radar
Both are running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. More than enough for todays apps. This is indeed a very good deal. Lenovo is ranked at the top for PC and smartphone. It looks like it is going to try dominating the tablet market by offering cheap good tablet PC.

GoTab 7-inch Cheap Good Tablet PC

If you are in the UK, you may want to check out GoTab 7-inch Android ICS tablet. It is available for £80. Of course comparison with other top tablets would be absurd.
