Transform Your Kindle Fire into Full Android Tablet

Got a Kindle Fire 2 ? Want an Android Tablet with Google Play Store ? Now you can transform your Kindle Fire into an Android Tablet 4.2 Jelly Bean. Thanks to CynanogenMod 10.1.

Some features are not performing well, as noted by Ubergizmo:
The thing is, the Kindle Fire 2 is not the fastest tablet on the block, so that kind of defeats the purpose, but at least it opens up options to the masses. Be warned though, CyanogenMod 10.1 for the Kindle Fire 2 will not support hardware video acceleration, meaning you cannot stream HD video from YouTube and Netflix, and you will also experience a higher battery drain during sleep while your headset microphones remain gimped.
Also remember, by using custom ROM such as CynanogenMod, you are voiding your warranty. There is always one possibility of "bricking" your tablet. So, upgrade at your own risk.

Google Play on new Coby Tablet

Google Play is the go-to Android app store. Having an Android tablet with no access to Google Play is like living in a remote area with no communications. Coby Electronics is releasing a Google Play enabled 7-inch Android Tablet.
The MID7065 features a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a front-facing 0.3MP camera. The device includes 8GB of flash storage with a microSD Card slot that lets you expand that up to 32GB.

The MID0765 is the latest Android tablet from Coby. And it will have Google Play available right on the tablet. Its price is set at $149.

It is still running Android 4.0, so some Google features such as Google Now will be missing.

Google Play is the ultimate app store for Google Android based tablets and smartphones. There are plenty of apps available on Google Play, from games to productivity apps. Access to Google Play, however, has been limited for budget Android Tablet. That is going to change soon. Nextbook Premium 7SE-GP will be available with Google Play on board. There is no fixed release date yet. E-Fun, the company that develops Nextbook Premium 7SE-GP said, it is coming soon in December. Considering that it is end of November already, it is not a long wait.
E FUN today announced a new $129.99 tablet for December which features specs that are surprisingly decent for the money. Details include a 7-inch 800×480 display, a 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, HDMI-output, USB host, microSD expansion, and front-facing camera. Powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the Nextbook Premium 7SE-GP connects via Wi-Fi but also allows for 3G connectivity  via dongle.

The specifications are pretty good, and for the price, it is a good deal. Definitely worth a second look if you are looking to buy an Android tablet this holiday season.
