Acer Iconia B1-A71 $150

Acer Iconia B1-A71 is an entry level tablet, says Acer. With the expected price of $150, it should be.

The tablet is “targeted at young or new users or families looking for an additional tablet for their children. The Iconia B1 is also ideal for busy individuals seeking a convenient mobile companion,” Acer says in a press note. The machine is to mount a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 512MB RAM. The processor is from Mediatek. The display is a TFT panel with a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels at 170-ppi. It has 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB if required.
“At 11.3 ounces and 11.3mm thick it’s a pretty svelte device, especially considering its expected starting price of under $150,” says Engadget. It has a VGA front facing camera for video chatting. For connectivity, the Acer tablet has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. However, Acer has missed to announce the exact release date. Maybe, it will be on display at MWC 2013.

Acer is releasing a tablet PC aimed at the budget market priced below $250. The Iconia Tab A110. It will be available starting October 30th, 2012. The price is $229.99. The biggest advantage is the MicroSD slot which are absent in most tablet PC models.

The slick tablet is priced at $230 and will run Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Sadly, Acer isn't updating some of its older Iconia tablets to Android 4.1. The tablet is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor paired with 8 GB of internal storage and a microSD memory card slot supporting up to 32 GB of additional storage.
The tablet lacks a rear-facing camera, which is actually quite common in lower-end Android-powered tablets. As expected, the A110 does feature a front-facing camera for video conferencing, promises up to 7.5 hours of use per battery charge and weighs 0.86 pounds. The tablet is less than half an inch thick, yet the seven-inch screen boasts a sweet resolution of 1024 x 600, as well as 1 GB of RAM and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity.

Acer is a brand that is quite good. Bringing good value for money. So it will be interesting to see if it can compete with official Android tablet from Google. The Google Nexus series. With Google hinting a Google Nexus release, this coming October 29th, it will be interesting to see how it fares in the market.
